English Language and Multicultural Services (ELMS)
The English Language and Multicultural Services (ELMS) Program empowers newcomers to Canada to live full lives in our community. The program offers:
Immigrant Settlement Assistance - Information and orientation to assist newcomers to Canada in settling into a new home and country
English Language Training - Free multi-level English classes, practise groups and tutoring to improve English skills
Community Connection Services - Educational, social and cultural events to prepare for active lives in Canada and to build a welcoming and supportive community
Employment Services – Assistance with finding, applying for, and maintaining a job. We can help you with your job search, resume & cover letter writing, online applications, and more
We are always looking for new volunteer Tutors - Gain experience and skills by becoming an ELMS volunteer tutor! You receive free training and support to tutor an adult English language learner on a one-to-one basis. All you need is the willingness to help someone speak English better
